I love animal crossing and can't stand stardew valley. I never played harvest moon, but there's definitely a lot more to do in stardew valley than in animal crossing. Stardew valley just plain feels like a better, more fleshed out hm, with bits of nostalgia in it. Stardew valley is inspired by retro games and looks rather raw in its mechanics.
